Supervisor: ReStore Manager/Assistant Manager
The position of the ReStore Sales Associate is vital to the Habitat ReStore, as they are the first and last face our customers see. Our goal is for the Sales Associate to consistently provide our customers with friendly exceptional service, while maintaining a clean and well organized store for an inviting shopping experience. Overall, this person should be self-driven, used to fast –paced work and capable of switching between multiple tasks.
Responsibilities:
The ReStore Sales Associate is responsible for contributing to daily operation of sales, customer service, and receiving and processing of donations.
Operations and Sales
■ Open, close and operate cash register, credit card machine.
■ Implement customer service procedures including greeting and directing customers to the appropriate area, responding to customer inquiries, answering and processing phone calls in the appropriate manner, and all other items related to customer service issues.
■ Demonstrate basic understanding of retail operations including, but not limited to customer service, product display, organization and pricing.
■ Work closely with the ReStore Managers in communicating immediate needs or scheduling concerns.
■ Maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and the public.
■ Understand and be able to communicate ReStore policies and procedures.
■ Operate office equipment, including answering machines, copiers, facsimiles, telephones and calculators.
■ Coordinate and supervise the training of sales, front desk and cashier volunteers.

■ Interact with customers in a friendly & helpful manner
■ Promote & maintain safe work environment
■ Stock and organize ReStore shelves and help set up displays
■ Assist in pricing and inventory
■ Write up sales receipts during payment transactions
■ Answer phone calls
■ Accept donations and provide receiving form to donors
Job Requirements
■ Good customer service & communication skills
■ Good organizational skills
■ Ability to follow directions
■ Show initiative/work independently
■ Cash handling experience and skills
■ Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel
■ Strong reading, writing, verbal and arithmetic skills.
■ Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
■ Must maintain reliable and stable work schedules with some flexibility.
Qualifications
■ High school degree or equivalent.
■ 18 years or age or older
■ Knowledgeable in building supply material preferred.
Work Experience
■ One year in retail sales preferred.
Physical Requirements:
■ Ability to spend the majority of the day standing or moving about the store.
■ Ability to lift 50lbs

Position in East Hawaii

Tuesday through Saturday, with typical hours of 8-4.
Certain volunteer days (typically Saturdays) or commute days will usually have early morning start times.
The position is full time and will require traveling to job sites on the east side of the island.

- Assist the Construction Manager in hands on construction tasks performed in a safe and efficient manner
- Help the Construction Manager to oversee volunteers performing construction activities
- Help carry supplies and materials where needed on the job site, and keeping the job site clean
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT/PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
- Previous residential construction experience is a plus.
- Must have ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions, be dependable and timely
- Must have a willingness to learn about all construction trades and undergo training to enhance skills and capabilities
- In working with all people of various levels who may be at the job site (which may include other employees, homeowners, Board members, and volunteers) the individual must be calm, patient, respectful, and courteous
- A good listener and communicator
